Aksi jual tajam di sektor keuangan membebani indeks utama sementara itu penurunan minyak juga memberikan tekanan kepada indeks dari sisi yang lain. S & P 500 SPX ditutup 22,84 poin, atau 1,2%, lebih rendah pada level 1,828.02. Indeks Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA turun 255,10 poin, atau 1,6%, ke level 15,659.64. Sementara itu, Nasdaq Composite COMP berakhir turun 16,76 poin, atau 0,4%, di level 4,266.84.
